last of the roses

A lovely watercolour Judith, roses are my favourite flowers but I haven't yet had the courage to paint them, someday maybe.

Very fresh and beautiful watercolour!

I have a garden full of old roses so I love this. I can almost smell them and it is an inspiration to start watercolour. The only class available in our area was acrylics so have taken up my new hobby through that medium. Thank you for your comment on my 'cobalt and cadmium'. In our class we have been painting for 7 sessions with thick paint, as in 'my first picture' done when everyone else was doing realistic apples and pumkins. I developed the idea at home with my 2 leaf pictures. This week, as an intoduction to runny acrylic, we blobbed it onto the paper and blew at it through a straw. I shall experiment further using that paint left on the palette.
