It looks a very good portrait, the likeness only you can judge, but the skin tones are so good and the glasses are a challenge in itself which you have done very well. I Like the background against the blue of the shirt - altogether a lovely portrait.

i had a look on your portfolio after your kind comments on "my waves" ..........your work is superb i hope i can reach your standard one day!

Very well painted Julie, understated and expressive at the same time. Like Glennis, I think the skin tones are very good. Also I like your varied portfolio, you're very versatile.

Thank you so much for the kind comments - very much appreciated. My husband is very pleased with the portrait now that it is mounted and framed - and I now have a commission from my sister to do her portrait!

This is first rate Julie and I'm sure he's very proud of it - and you! I've got to go visit some other galleries but I'm pretty sure I'll be back to check out more of your work over the coming weeks. Your work in each topic shows a real understanding of tone and in your husbands portrait do I detect a twinkle in his eye ....

Lovely affectionate portrayal of your husbands portrait Julie, super work as always

For ages my husband has been asking when I was going to get around to painting his portrait. I have put it off for a long time, but finally gave in a couple of weeks ago. He is very pleased with the result and now we are in discussion about mounting and framing! It is painted in water based oils on a canvas panel measuring 30 cm x 40 cm.
