By the way, the brave wee whippet/staffie cross dog tip-toeing gingerly out on the canal ice in the foreground is my own dog, Cassie, - immortalised in paint , with my wife holding her lead ! Scenes like this were common in the Great European freeze of 2012 in Amsterdam in particular . In Venice , perhaps not ! But that's fantasy art for you.

This fantasy painting is a close copy of my earlier 'Icebound Venice' painting , but with the major, purely fantasy addition of a range of ice skaters and suitable amazed bystanders. 70cm by 50cm, on stretched canvas.
