Really well painted John 🙂

These are - I'm told! - some of the gentlest bovines you'll ever meet. Which I would class as advice that's fine in theory. I've told this tale before, but an artist friend of mine, tired after painting all day up on the Downs at Freshwater, had a quick nap: to be awoken surrounded by a semi-circle of gurt 'airy cows (or cayes, as we tend to call them down here: gurt 'airy cayes...). They were just curious; didn't so much as trample a paint tube, she said. Anyway, cows very like these, variant of the same breed I think, but black-haired rather than red. You do have a black one as well of course: so probably exactly the same breed.

Wonderful cows and what an appropriate title.

I have been drawing and painting as a hobby, on and off for years. I am now finding more time so this has allowed me to dabble with drawing, oils and acrylic.
