Lovely painting John. It has the feeling of the history of a well and it looks as if there is really interesting texture on the painting surface as well. Fantastic.

Thanks for your comments Mary Jane. It's on a heavy canvas with an under-painting of oil and turps then all knife work with oils over a more or less 3 week period, then a semi-matt varnish-mix. its painted without restrictions and just the loose concept of figures in the landscape, the title comes during or after.
