The previous barge was excellent - this is even better. Lovely rich tones, and subtle treatment of the water and reflections. Nice.

Barges!!!!!!! Wonderful barges, I wish I could do them justice like this John. I liked your last one.....I love this one. I especially like the palette you have used and the reflections are super.

John, I don't think you've lost the 'Wesson' touch at all. A little of it is still there, but you also have your own technique along side it. I love your style of painting, never over done and just enough information for the viewer. I consider myself very fortunate to get ' my corner of the field', I've been looking for quite a while. I eventually got it from ebay of all places. The ones I have hunted down previously where silly prices.......£600 to £800. The one I managed to get was a 'buy it now' price ( not in the auction) and got it for £168. It hasn't got the sleeve and it has a small scuff on the front, but I didn't but it to part with it. I bet there aren't many days go by that I don't have a look through it, I had read it by the end of the first day, after recieving it! It's a beautiful book, one of my treasured possessions. If you use ebay, put the book title in your watch list and if any are listed it will alert you. You would be surprised how many come up. I would say that at least three...not including the one I bought.....have come up in the last six months. Good luck! Thank you John for your lovely comments on my last two pictures.

PS. I still have that painting, (fenland lane) if you would still like it John.

It's a lovely painting!
