Like the composition John and the light you have created in this piece along with your figures sitting around the street cafe but might have made the shadows in the forground just a bit darker as it works to-wards the bottom of the painting, but this is only my humble opinion of how I might have rendered this part and is not meant as a criticim of this nice piece.,

Like it; and I've been very impressed by the Rembrandt watercolour range - they have some lovely blues, and a particularly impressive Cobalt.

Thanks Graham much appreciated. I had gone down that route of the foreground shadows in my tonal sketch but decided against it, as I felt it pushed the painting too far back and lost the " heat" of the sunlight which I wanted the viewer to be included in. or stood in. Maybe I was wrong. Anyway thanks for your thoughts.

No John, you were not wrong. It's exactly as you say - full of warmth and light. We could all do the same scene differently. I doubt many could do it so well.

Thank you for the lovely pictures of Dinan. We spent a while there about 3 years ago and would love to go back. Your pictures brought back happy memories.

My Pleasure Jacqueline I have a saying 'if just one of my pictures gives someone pleasure then I have succeeded beyond my wildest dreams' Dinan is a wonderful city I go there some 3 or 4 times a year. Cant keep away. Am finishing another one of mine of the Old Port at the moment will post it asap
