Its great to try and capture that hot sand and deep sky eh? I also work very much as an impresionist - had a similar scene in Portugal to paint on a beach - in fact think I have it in my watercolour dosier on here - and enjoyed doing a graduated wash of deep blue acrylic ink upside down on the paper and then turning it right way up to drop in, after which I continued in watercolour. Another lovely way to get such intense colour is to use an acrylic ink background painting and work pastels over the top on hot pressed paper? Again there are examples in my new folders?
