Palm with breaker by Joe Rhodes

Hey Joe, glad to see more of your work! Personally I love this one, the palm tree bark and leaves are excellent the clouds are beautiful and the breaker too. Difficult to show the light source but I suppose if it were coming from the left it might be nice to see a shadow of the tree?? Great stuff!

An interesting portfolio. this one other than those bits of cloud? behind the palm fronds. the scale of the breaker seems OK. Agree with Carole a bit of shadow perhaps. Like the colours used. You lucky person if this is your home.

I just so love this. very well executed. What medium did you use to mix with the oils, it looks so smooth as if it was air brushed. Do you ever sell large prints of this? Id like them all around my bedroom :-)

I love this picture, and your style in general. I think this show's great colour and expression and stiking patterns (wave break, clouds, palm tree) and I think its so dramatic that it doesn't matter if its not realistic - although I think it is anyway. This might just be my personal philosophy on art - but expression and drama are more important then getting every little technical aspect right.
