As a full-time working artist, the 'pause' in my commissioned work during the lockdown has given me an opportunity to complete some unfinished pictures in the studio, including this one of HMS Ocean as it enters a squall near Cape Wrath. It is based on a view I witnessed when leaving the ship in April 2015 after spending some sea-time on board during Ex Joint-Warrior. Strapped to a safety harness, I took some photos from the open doorway of the Sea King helicopter before heading to Inverness airport.
