Penguins in Paradise

lovely oil painting Jim and certainly an apt time of year to remind us all of what paradise can look like and at least these penguins can enjoy it, beautifully captured scene with super colours

I suggest Speedbird, you are cleared for landing'. I don't know if you know, but the traffic controllers call all BA flights by the call sign Speedbird. This title is a reference to the bird gliding in and one penguin seeming to be doing semaphore signals to it. Sometimes I think it is better and more evocative not to go for the obvious title, i.e. ignore the penguins and concentrate on a smaller part of the painting like the bird landing. I don't know why but it seems to make a painting more interesting when you don't deliberately draw the viewers attention to the obvious. By the way, great painting!
