Absolutely love it, great subject, atmosphere, reflections, texture and foliage.

A beautiful painting. I see your question about the perspective. There does not seem to be anything basically wrong with it other than that you would probably want to crop the picture and tilt the river to the left a bit so that it does not look like the painting is not hanging straight.

Hang the perspective! It's fabulous and it's got everything you would see and feel being beside a river in woodland. Love it!

I see what you mean about the perspective - one sort of looks for a horizon, in a vague sort of way: but two things: one, I doubt I should have noticed that at all if you hadn't alerted us to it, and two, I'm with Fiona - hang the perspective! It's a superb painting, and where can I see more of your work, please?

I painting I would very happily have hanging on my wall. Stunning.

Thanks for your comments. I thought about tilting it and cropping it, but would probably lose too much. also other things may then appear to lean, think I'll just have to live with it. Thanks for your interest Robert, I have a website. www.gillianyorath.co.uk

I haven't even noticed whether the perspective is spot on or not as I am just admiring your wonderful running water and beautifully painted trees. Lovely work.

Beautifully painted, great detail and wonderful flowing water.

I would honestly never have noticed that the river leans ever so slightly if it hadn't been mentioned. A truly beautiful painting that I would happily look at every day

When a painting is as good as this slight distortions don't count Gillian, everyone is too busy just enjoying how much detail you have shown

I agree with all that has been said - this has a lovely feel

Oil on board ( aprox 30'' x 25'') This river runs through Coed y Brennin (Kings wood) in North Wales. It was a tricky viewpoint from one end of a bridge - not sure I've got the perspective quite right.
