Excellent likeness. Are his teeth perhaps just a little too regular or is it the top lip? I can't put my finger on it. May I ask what strengths of pencil you use? I'm doing a portrait right now with Hb and 5b for the very dark areas but am wondering if I should try others. And do you have a preference for a particular make of pencils? I have W/N right now which I find softer than I'm used to.

He was a very good actor, sadly typecast - the moment he came on stage in a Shakespeare play, the audience started laughing; very sad, and he died far too young. I think Diana is right about the mouth - these things are fiendishly difficult; and yet, he's instantly recognizable. But what is one to do? You can't work from life in this case, more's the pity.
