Holy Ground by Janice Taylor

Really appreciate what you have done here Janice. The setting is beautiful. But not sure that the figure is really working. As you say "we are on Holy Ground" So I feel some of that colour needs to be entering the figure as the figure is then feeling the effect of the prayer. I can see the dark has been pushed away so the individual must be becoming enlightened and feel the uplift of prayer. I trust that makes sense.

Thanks John, I guess my feeling is that we don't often feel the results of our prayers. The circumstances can stay the same but we are unaware that we are making a difference. Prayer is hard at times. I did it in one and half hours during our weekly prayer meeting, the first time I had attempted to paint like this.

THis was done as a result of feeling totally helpless at all the hurt in the world from Refugees to bomb blasts. When we can't do anything else but pray it is as if we are on Holy ground and our prayers take on a life of their own pushing back the darkness.
