Absolutely wonderful paintings Jane. Love your loose approach with paint and application.

Thank you Fiona for your encouraging comment

Lovely postings, Jane. this is my favorite - love the brushwork, the delicate feel of the petals, the light and the palette.

Stunning painting - love all your new postings.

Thank you Seok and Thea for your much appreciated comments.

Hi Jane, after seeing your work I looked up Vitaly's work....wow, I absolutely love his winter scenes. I can see why you have enjoyed the course.

Hi Fiona. Thanks for your comment. I looked up your work , very nice. Your winter scenes are exceptional !

Thank you Jane. I wonder, are you familiar with an artist called Igor Saharoff, watch his u-tube videos.....he has such a relaxed way of painting, and what results. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for this information Fiona.I have looked up this artist Fiona,So interesting, seems he is a known teacher ,but I couldn't find any of his own work. Obviously he is very accomplished and is a master of techniques. Surprised he works from photos or in some cases photos of other artist's work -for his tutorial 'Light and Shadow' he uses a work by the brilliant Russian artist Bato Dugarzhapov, a colleague of Vitaly. Sadly I couldn't understand the Russian tutorial. Fascinating to watch his clever techniques though personally I prefer with learning from observation, from life, en plein air.

Flowers from Vitaly's garden. Oil on canvas 30cm x 35cm . I was on a workshop with the brilliant Russian impressionist painter Vitaly Makarov. These flowers were from his garden and painted in the studio. I was so inspired by this artist's work -I hope my work shows something of the passion and poetry of Vitaly's work. For those interested it is well worth going to his workshop in Montenegro this September
