Thanks Jeannette and Nora. Nora, I used Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils. They are oil based and I like them because they hold their point well and the colours are gorgeous.

Tulip in coloured pencil on smooth cartridge paper. The background was rendered with 12 layers of cp - it took forever! I wanted to achieve a rich dark brown in order to make the tulip 'pop'.
