I m sorry to have to say this, but I am disappointed that you have posted 10 paintings back to back like this. POL team have put guidelines at the top of the gallery page to ask people not to post more than one or two paintings at a go to let everyone have a fair chance of staying on the first few pages for reasonable length of time. I posted a painting just before you and it went straight off the front page in minutes as 10 painting take up a whole page. Everyone works equally hard on their paintings and I think they deserve equal exposure. I know the comments and feedback I get on my work helps me enormously and that is the whole point I use the gallery on this site. The other downside of posting two many paintings at one go, especially when they are of a similar subject, is that people don't bother to comment on individual works, so the posting artist misses out as well. As I said, I am sorry to have to mention this, but multiple postings are a real problem on the site and everyone's co-operation is really appreciated.

Thea, I am sorry, I just didnt think, when I log in I just go to the 'MY GALLERY' link on the right hand side of the screen, and from there it doesn't remind you not to post too many at one time. I really didn't mean to upset anyone.

Thank you for replying to my comment. The advice about not posting more than one or two paintings at a time is right at the top of the gallery page. Just a thought - you could consider deleting some of the painting that haven't got a comment as yet, so that you wouldn't lose valuable feedback, and re-posting them more slowly. This would have the effect of moving everyone back up to the first and second pages. Only a suggestion and it is of course entirely up to you how you post. Anyway, thank you for your understanding - it is appreciated.

Perhaps in future you should just post one or two works at a time? When there are so many paintings, in a similar style, I'm afraid that I tend to skim over them and don't really look at each individual painting closely.

While I can appreciate the comments Thea has made ref. too many postings at on go, and Janes recognision of the problem, may I offer a possible alternative, and that is that Thea considerers re posting her 2 pictures which would be easier than Jane re posting 7 or 8 pictures, and Thea's would be on the front page! Just a thought. Mutiple posting issues aside, lovely paintings Jane and I'm very envious.

Thank you Norman for that suggestion. It did actually only involve one of my paintings. However, I wouldn't dream of posting a painting twice as that in itself takes up a space that someone else who is posting for the first time is entitled to and I don't think my paintings derserve any more attention than anyone else's. You often see people re-posting paintings for a variety of reasons (I think the favourite is re-organising their portfolio, which I don't really understand at all) and quite frankly I find it irksome for the reasons I say above. Also on the subject of multiple postings, you could easily post a painting and then get 10 individual artists posting behind you which would have the same effect as one person posting 10 straight after you. However, luckily it is rare to have 10 people deciding to post within minutes of each other so this isn't really an issue. I just keep hoping that people will read the POL guidelines at the top of the gallery page and if that happened then problem would be solved.
