You do all the things I wouldn't do - for various reasons - but have come up with a winner. I am quietly confident that this technique would come to a very messy grief in my hands, but it's worked well in yours.

A really effective painting - great use of the cling film. The explosion of poppies really catches the eye and demands attention.

watercolour 49 x 49 cms i drew this in pencil first, then used masking fluid on the poppies. I washed the background with a mixture of sap green and ultramarine then applied clingflim onto the wet surface. I used chinsese orange and cadmium red for the poppies. Then picked out the patterns of the clingflim for the background trees and patterns of foloiage.
