Really lovely Janet. Yes I like to do that, I do more little trials with paint than actually getting on with the big picture:)

Lovely washy painting very spontaneous and beautiful

Having just come back to painters online I am catching up - love your use of paint. I have experienced a hot climate in France with the water colour paint drying very quickly and it is a very different way of painting. At the moment it has been so wet in the UK my work in my studio has stayed wet for 2 days.

Thanks Carole. I am always doing little trials/experiments and even use items around the house to good effect. Try using a fine combe drawn over a splog of paint.....you can make lovely feather marks. Will put up a pic of some one day soon.

Two smashing watercolours Janet.

These fruits are such great subjects. Love the effect of this painting.

I did have fun with this Pomegranit. It was Christmas time when I painted it. I loved what happens when you drop water onto the paper next to wet paint, and even add a little more paint to the drop of water....allowing the colours to blend while tipping the paper at an angle.
