Very sensitively drawn still life.

James, I like this but am aware of your problem with deepening the colour. I'm not sure I'd use pastel paper for coloured pencil - cartridge might be more receptive; then build up the colour gradually, light touches at first, layer on layer of deeper colour. I don't know the colour soft brand - I thought they were coloured pencil rather than pastel? If they are, then the velour paper would tend to soak up the colour rather, and make life more difficult for you.

Robert: you are right again its not worth the effort using pencil on velour paper, although others may not agreen , but the paper is good for portraits, human and animal. Coloursoft pecils are a Derwent brand.
