I think this is good, strong colour, has impact. The only thing I'd say is that it might help if there were something - a figure, an animal, to indicate scale. But as I am pretty hopeless with pastel, at least at present, I salute you for adding it to your repertoire.

Robert: The thing about pastel its immediate, but can be messy, a lot of dust, which seems to get everywhere. The paper is vthe secret ,I think, for me who tends to be a bit heavy handed. Have a go. Try the abrasive paper. Thank you for byour comment on Ulhuru (Ayers Rock) James,
