Lovely graphic sketch Dmitry… My Manga G Zebra pump pen arrived this morning - I’ve bought a few extra nibs as well. Great service from Ackerman, looking forward to trying it out shortly!

Thank you Alan. I've just sent a short summary of my experience with the pen to the Ackerman company. I would be interested to know how are you coping. You can write to my email address ( in my profile) and I can forward to you my notes about the pen if you wish so.

That’s very kind of you, and I was of course going to let you know how I got on with it… I’m busy working on deadlines for a couple of features for The Artist at present, so it’ll probably be next week before I can devote my full attention to it! They sent me a few basic instructions, but there are some links to videos etc… I’ll take a look at those later today.

Incidentally, what ink are you using? On my screen it looks slightly on the sepia side! I like it… I’ve got a bottle of black Chinese ink arriving today… I’m assuming it takes just about everything!

I have two sets of three. One set for Diamine inks, another for w/proof acrylic liquitex inks. I put a little piece of foam in the cap of pens with acrylic inks. So the nib is kept moist all the time. I use a water brush to moisten the nib, feed and overfeed before I start working. And have supply of tissue handy.

With black Chinese ink I would definitely put a little piece of foam in the cap and moisten the nib, feed and overfeed before after I finish work. Of course I have a lot of tissue each time I open the pen to start working....

Excellent advice Dmitry… I’ve got plenty of Liquitex acrylic inks in my studio, I’ll probably start off with some of those! I’m not sure what a feed and over feed are, but I’m sure the videos will explain more!

Okay! Got it now after watching a few (very poor) videos - thank you for being so helpful, I do appreciate it.
