I much admire paintings with aeroplanes. I just cannot contemplate painting one! It is very atmospheric and beautifully executed.

A very powerful image expertly painted.

Wonderful atmosphere, light and movement all conveyed through the painting.

My father is George Bollinger. He left me this painting after he passed away. It proudly hangs on our wall. Beautiful

"Mighty 8th on the climb" The USAF entered the war with the B17 Flying Fortress .It was slow, they flew in daylight and the crews had no battle experience. They faced battle hardened German fighter pilots and the losses were severe. Imagine then the emotions of the crews as once more the forced themselves to head towards Germany. This painting was commissioned by a tail gunner George Bollinger. It depicts the crossing of The Channel .The aircraft will formate after passing through the cloud. When he firsrt saw the painting he told me that the atmosphere created was such as to overcome him emotionally.
