A lovely free painting. Very good use of pen and ink.

Getting a bit muddly with all of these Ians. Though your style is very recognisable. Another to really like.....Very much.

Well I never knew that. YOu learn something every day. Nice loose work.

Another lovely painting. Do you paint these plein air or in the studio from photos. It is just that I felt that you might have been painting in front of the scene as they have that certain vibrancy that can be achieved doing that.

Watcha Ian, well executed landscape, free and easy, I think the sky is, perhaps, too solid, it looks almost as hard as the rocks. The thrust of the lane is from the right and down, perhaps needs something in the bottom left to stop it carrying us out of the picture? best Mick

This is one of those pictures that popped up on the sidebar & I'd not seen before; a fabulous, fresh painting, if I may say so all these months after you posted it, and I don't think the sky is too solid; I see the point about the lane leading out of the picture, but my eye went straight to the centre of the painting, where you have those warm greens - so long as there's an effective focus to a painting, I'm not troubled by what would otherwise be confusing distractions.
