A Flourish of Anemones
If you have Japanese Anemones growing in your garden you'll know how wayward and flamboyant they can be (I'm not organised enough to stake anything in our borders). So this large oil painting is a celebration of these bountiful, if wilful, flowers. This was painted over an old landscape, which had only a thin layer of oils on it, and made a richly varied underpainting. I'm recycling a lot of my very old works on canvas, which feels cathartic and is creating much needed space in our loft!
