Chicken

A very nice painting in watercolor. You have a strong 'eye' with this bird, a bit of a questioning look in the eye, which works....and harmony in color throughout. Helen, Just a bit of a suggestion, next time, try a narrow head at the top that triangles out to the body....this one is a bit thick across the top . (I also like to paint birds and chickens, roosters.)

You've captured that knowing look that my girls often give me Helen. Once you have chickens you will never want to be without them again....just a warning!!lol

I want chickens too! Alas, I live in a condo town-home, with no land, so it will have to be our next place. Please don't take my other comment as a criticism, it is a comment only. I love your work and you have a lovely painting here, since I don't own chickens I really don't know there head formations. Lovely color choices, I love pink and orange together.

Thank you Fiona :) It was all about that look in the eye for me, so I'm glad you saw it. Nancy, my friend keeps chickens and there is a field of them near me, so I paint what I see. Thanks for the positive comments though. I'd love to have chickens, but at the moment I'm not at home enough to give them the time and care. One day though!
