I also like the first one, but the lighting here is perhaps more dramatic. Very effective reflections.

This is a nice watercolour, lovely reflections, i feel it s a bit better than the first one. I cannot believe you can paint it in one day!

Great light, and the trees are really well done.

The first one was ok, but this one is better, brighter. Beautiful sunlight on the building, reflections in the water and better painted trees! Love it!!

Thank you for your kind comments. I do paint quickly Petra, all of my paintings are done in one sitting and usually take 2-4 hours. Mia - I shall be in Belgium on Sunday morning -returning home on Monday evening (a short visit this time) We shall meet our friends Marc & Hilde Feryn on Sunday and on Monday visit St Sixtus Abdij.

I love the reflections in Scotney Castle and your stormy sky in stormy weather.

I liked the first one too, but this one is much better I think. I like the creaminess of the stone and the contrasts and reflections. I think this is a more confident painting.

Yes this is even better, lovely water and shadows.

Wow, Helen. I hope you have a nice trip in that beautiful region of Flanders. I know where the "abdij" is, passed it by car, but never visited the place. They make the best beer in the world, you know!! That beer is so in demand but they refuse to make more of it.... Please let me know how it was and I hope you are lucky with the weather.

nice piece, and I like the first one too. The water and the stone are done really well...

Another painting of Scotney - an improvement I think. The previous one was painted a couple of years ago. I did this one yesterday.
