Helen, I hope you don't mind me saying that I think this watercolour is Cute! or should I say quaint with the old fashioned street lamp!

Very attractive painting - with a lovely quality of light. Would I be disappointed if I were to visit Hastings, having seen your paintings of its quieter corners?

The Old Town of Hastings is lovely - although quite busy. We have a beach-launched fishing fleet, many lovely old buildings, a (ruined) castle - and a sprawling "new town" The surrounding countryside is great for walks and you can find live music of some sort every evening. I love the town! It sometimes gets bad press and it does have a seedier side but dosnt every large town? ell worth a visit!!

A nostalgic scene. It must be 55 years or so, since I was in Hastings. I like this and I can almost expect Foyle to come walking around the corner! :) Nice one. John
