Red Frog in front of a Volcano by Heinz Sterzenbach
Red Frog in front of a Volcano, Acrylic Collage, Canvas, 15,7x11,8 inch, 2007. On the peninsula Kamschatka fire dozens of volcanos nearly incessantly melted Pacific ocean ground into the atmosphere. Here dips the Pacific earth's crust plate under the asiatic continent into the interior of the earth interior. The impressing natural occurence is observed by an arrow poison frog, which himself is observed by a man with ocher colored cape and a cry opened mouth. The frog is normally resident in the Corcovado national park in Costa Rica. In the rain forests of South and Central America toads and frogs occur in larger varieties than otherwise on earth. Occasionally 80 kinds part a biotope. In their emancipation of the water the arrow poison frogs brought it rather far. They bring up their new generation in few more than one egg cup full of water. In the picture the colored outfit of the arrow poison frog fits very well with the coloured outstanding of the volcano and was shifted by the artist in an environment very hostile for the frog.
