Magasin KaDeWe, Oil on Canvas, Canvas, 27,6x39,4 inch, 1994. At the left side: the KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens = shopping center of the west) is the most famous shopping center of Berlin. It is the only warehouse, which could survive the second world war even with serious damages. It was constructed 1906-1907 after the plans of Johann Emil Schaudt. Today it has 43.000-meter square surface and 20 million visitors and purchasers per year. Every day a turnover of 1,3 million of DM is realized.
