This is really great, love the marks & strokes, & colour

Great style you have Heather, this is brilliant.

Christopher, Jane, Fiona.. thank you very much for your kind comments. This is one of my favs :-)

Both your digital work and real media work is excellent Heather. I really enjoy doing digital too. I don't manipulate original photos as I feel that is plagerism. I just go straight to the iPad and use the stylus with a programme like Artrage. I like the idea of half real and half digital though and you've inspired me to use it, soon.

Good morning Heather. I have never really appreciated digital art but I find this absolutely irresistible. I love the background as well as the marks around the stems and the blooms. What happens now? Do you print the picture and, if so, what printer and what paper do you use? Or can you print on to a support other than paper, e.g. card or canvas?

This is a striking and lovely image Heather - a really clever way of mixing media.

Michael, Lionel, Julie.. thank you so much for your comments and encouragement. Michael, I'm glad you enjoy digital too.. and no, I don't like to manipulate photos either. All my work is done by hand, just as if I were painting with real paint. Artrage is great and is one of my favourites. I'm glad to have inspired. Lionel, I know that a lot of folk think digital art is done by pressing a button.. not so in my case :-) Yes, I usually print the picture, just so as I have a record in a display folder. This one I had printed professionally on MDF at A4 size. My own printers are both fairly basic. I have a Canon MP640 and Epson Stylus Photo PX710W. I use semi gloss paper made specifically for these printers. Yes, you can print on other papers, I've used both card and acrylic paper to print out sketches for real media painting. That way, if I mess it up, which I quite often do, I can just print out another sketch. I haven't tried printing a finished digital painting on canvas paper though but that would certainly be worth a try. Thank you for your interest, Lionel and I hope you give it a try.

Eye catching and cleverly put together.

Thank you for your kind comment Sarah.. much appreciated.

Hi Heather. I've been thinking that I may need a better stylus, brush. What do you use please?

Hi Michael. For this I used the stylus pen that came with the Wacom Intuos 5.. just a basic stylus. I do have the Wacom Art Pen which enables you to rotate the 'brush'. Recently I've upgraded to the Wacom Cintiq 27QHD where you actually draw/paint on the screen, still with a basic Wacom stylus though. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest.

Thanks very much Heather. I'll have a look at these with a view to buying. Grateful.

This is fabulous Heather....love the style...

Thanks so much, Sylvia!
