Carr Bridge by Hazel Evans

I wouldn't have believed this bridge if I hadn't seen it myself: it seems impossibly steep but - that's how it is. Like the trees melting into the background; the one thing I'd suggest is that you might have indicated a little more depth to the bank, with a few touches indicating foliage dipping down into the water, just to avoid the look that trees are growing directly out of the water itself. I'm being picky - I actually don't think it matters, because the painting works as a whole, but it might be a thing to watch next time.

Thank you Robert for taking the time to look and comment. I see what you mean about the bank, I need people like you to point these things cos I don't notice them. The bridge is amazing, wouldn't like to try and cross it though!

Don't worry about Robert Hazel he is picky! but he usually manages to have some apt points. He is right about a little depth to the banks, that must really be an amazing bridge!

Another attempt at watercolour. Painted from my own photograph taken recently in Carrbridge. Happy-ish with the bridge, not sure about everything else!
