Harry, I like it as it is. That's the way things are so why make changes. The bands of colour in this are lovely and they work for me.

I agree with Jane, it is a lovely painting

Well, I sympathise, Harry, because I would like to chop my latest posting into 3 or 4 pieces (wish it wasn't painted on mdf!). Yours would make a lovely diptych(?) as you would get some of your spendid sea and sand on both bits, linking the horizontal halves. Otherwise, I wonder how many colours you used and if the green in the background relates to the green in the foreground. And maybe a hint of green in the wood on the left? (I have tried to help because I think this site is great at advice but please note that I am a beginner, no expert.) And I do like your picture and was drawn to it straight because of the balance of shapes.

Thank you ladies. I appreciate your kind words. There's still something there I cant quite reconcile in my eye. Sian, I found your comments most helpful. I'll take your advice about the trees and maybe blue glaze the distant fields to make them recede and jar less

This feels like two separate pictures to me, with a definite top and bottom. How should I resolve it?
