It's a charming portrait; the only thing I'd say is that the eyes don't seem to be quite aligned; i.e. the right eye seems slightly out of kilter with the left. And the reason I notice that is that I've done the same thing, and it's a hell of a job to get it right, especially when you're very close to your subject, as of course you were with this one. You/I/we tend to be so careful, so determined to get the individual characteristics right, that we don't always see the image as a whole. But - it's still a charming portrait, of which you can be proud. Helps, I think, if you can loosen up, and pretend you don't know your subject at all; treat him as you would a plant pot, if you see what I mean ... I really hope this helps, because I certainly didn't want to just pick holes in your work. I still feel that I know your subject, and that's the main thing.

Thanks Robert for your kind comments....................unfortunately all I had to reference this was my late father's photograph. The eyes were definitely a challenge because he had an infection in his left eye when the photograph was taken, complicating the drawing. However it is great to receive constructive criticism such as yours as it encourages me to persist in this great hobby.
