Thank you so much for your lovely comments. Sylvia, I built up layers of a separate green and blue mixes, these were mixed really thinly then added the black. I went around the blues and greens wet on dry then when the black was dry I used a thin blue green wash over the whole feather, give it a try, I love magpie feathers.

That greens sheen in the darker features is wonderful.
