Portrait in pencil by Gudrun Ståhl Sharpley

I must have missed this programme Gudrun. Sitting there for four hours would bring on that blank stare, the mind drifting off to another place. She looks relaxed, great drawing.

She doesn't look very happy for her sitting but a great expression caught well.

Sensitively drawn, with such a painterly quality. Beautiful work, Gudrun.

A wonderful expression on her face, as if she’s staring into space. Beautifully drawn.

Thank you all for your appreciation! Earlier I heard a thump. I didn't think anything of it as there is a near teenager in the house. My studio lamp had toppled over in a draught. The shade is no longer a round shape. I hope it won't hamper my efforts as darkness closes in!?

Always that beautiful line quality Gudrun

A5, archival, pencil. It has been a strange day today. I thought a bit of drawing might be a good idea! I think this reference comes from one of the Portrait Artist of the Year sessions.
