Portrait in pencil

Lovely, I wish I will be able to draw half as well some day.

Good portrait. Yes, I've found young faces hard to do so greatly admire those who can. Plus the symmetry of beautiful/handsome people I find hard to get motivated by. For me if there's something in the eye then I'm off and running. The eyes in this portrait definitely have that 'something'.

Very nice Gudrun. Well done. This one nearly passed me by. Didn't recognize the style. I have always found it difficult to draw children tending to age them prematurely.

You've achieved a brilliant image with minimum marks Gudrun. Up for a challenge I see: trace it onto some canvas and do one of your lovely acrylics or oils.

You’ve caught it Gudrun, eyes are fab.

Thank you all for your appreciation. I was wanting to use this great pose again. However, I never trace anything, so there's the double challenge of doing it again from scratch!

Youth well captured Gudrun!

Always so clean beautifully observed and I love the way you create volume through line masterful

Plus the shapes are always magnificent Gudrun

Thank you Dennis. You encouragement is always appreciated.

Dressing up, A4 sketchbook, pencil, archival. I have watched the video on Sky Arts FB about the tension between likeness and a good work of art. It also discussed how difficult it it to do beautiful and young people. Of course I am always up for a challenge .... Another challenge is to photograph pencil drawings, especially when there is fog, and now diffuse light.
