A very honest portrait that you have painted extremely well. It’s a shock to see the old wrinkles appearing and unfortunately, they seem to increase every day.

I am not comfortable doing self portraits - this one was done as an entry for the SAA art magazine challenge. It is done on grey Pastelmat, using Derwent Procolour and Lightfast coloured pencils. I've only had these glasses for a couple of days and it was only when I stepped back to look at the portrait that I realised how much they magnify.

I started attending a weekly Watercolour workshop after retiring in December 2014. I also enjoy working with graphite pencils, sometimes supplemented with watercolour pencils. I also use charcoal, pastels, Inktense, pen & ink, and coloured pencils.
