I think you’ve got the texture of those downy feathers really well particularly in contrast to the textures of the beak and eye

Mixed media. The background was painted in Inktense and the bird done in coloured pencil. I found it somewhat difficult to portray the soft, downy feathers that look more like cotton wool plus the stronger, feathers coming through.
