Well I for one just love the sky - rain filled or not. Ps: I like the other bits too

This is so effective Graham - love the colours and the atmosphere.

The sky was the first thing to catch my attention, Graham! It certainly works, with atmosphere in spades!

I love it too!

Thanks Michael,Jane, Seok and Fiona it is always great to get feedback from other artists about your work and is, as always apprciated

I also love the sky. It has that ochre look of an impending storm. The colour is beautifully mirrored in the hills. I think this has worked very well to convey what you had in mind.

Works for me Graham, thanks for posting it. Moody and atmospheric it shows there is beauty in the Scottish landscape in all weathers.

Thank you Thea and Val for taking the time to view and comment on my painting, it is always appreciated

If I sound a slightly discordant note, it may be because I'm picking up on what you yourself said - you weren't sure it had come off AS YOU'D INTENDED - and I do get the impression that this was an experimental piece: I think there's more texture in the sky than movement, and if it was a rain-lashed scene you had in mind, that doesn't quite come over to me. (I just thought after half a dozen positive comments, it was time for a bit of a sock with a dead haddock round the back of the neck! I'm like that.....) Seriously - it's beautifully drawn, it impresses, the colours are evocative of the landscape: it's only that I think your own reservations were probably not a million miles off the mark, so - while agreeing with the others in giving credit to the painting, I think I'd also do credit to your judgement in questioning whether it's quite worked as intended. Mind you, it's a minor miracle when a watercolour ever does that....

Thanks Robert, always good to have comments on your work, you were correct in saying this was more of an experimental piece on my part hence this one has been stored away for quite some time and thought I would post it anyway, in saying that I had some reservations about what I tried to create, I was still reasonably pleased with the piece, and as you say it is always a minor miracle when watercolours do what you intended when applying them to create the effect you have in your imagination at the time.!

Another painting from my archives painted this some considerable time ago but remember trying to try something a bit different with the rain filled sky to make it a bit more dramatic; and Val K. said some time ago that she would like to see my interpretation after she had produced such a lovely summer scene of the same location, so here it is, but not to sure this piece really worked to give the rain filled atmosphere I intended.
