I do like the (apparent!) simplicity of your work, and the impression of depth and space. Do you fix your pastels? Mine are abysmal, and hardly worth the price of fixative, but when I have used it I always manage to lose some of the brighter colour.......

Hi Robert, I never fix a picture for two reasons. Firstly as you say it completely dulls the picture, this is because when you spray and make the surface damp, the light and dark colours merge together dulling the picture. Secondly, I use a 160gsm pastel paper and if this was sprayed it would cockle thus loosing the flat surface. Even when it dries it never goes back completely flat. I use a sheet of glassine paper to fix, if you would like more information just drop me an email direct to [email protected] and I will try to help you out.
