Are you saying you have never painted a dog? If so I am amazed. This is brilliant. I have took on the task of painting my brothers Bijon Frise. I have done the pencil sketch but don't know where to start with the paint. I am inspired by this lovely painting. Well done

I have painted dogs but not this particular breed. Thank you for your comments and best of luck with your painting. I am not familiar with the breed you are to paint so will look it up. I have amended the text on my picture.

This is really lovely....I'm not surprised you sold it.

A lovely piece, you've captured the expression beautifully.

I admire your work and especially love the animal and bird paintings. You seem to capture the individuality of each creature and the fact that they are in watercolour is amazing as you manage to control the paint so well!

Hi Glennis, love the expression that you've captured so well, I paint animals too, mainly dogs and cats but not in watercolour - this painting makes watercolour look so effortless which most of us know isn't the case.

Another lovely painting, I like your work

You never fail to impress, Glennis.

I had one of these dogs, gentle giants. You have captured it perfectly.

I am self taught, just have a great love for animals. Started painting my own dog and cat and have painted a few commissions for others as well. Watercolour is my favoured medium, although I have dabbled in oils but always come back to watercolour. I prefer a realism look to loose painting, but that is my choice, I admire other paintings that are more on the loose style, but somehow I don't seem to be able to loosen up. In Germany I saw this wonderful dog and asked the owners if I could photograph it. A dog breed I hadn't painted until now. It sold in an outdoor exhibition in Cheltenham.
