Another splendid piece, Glennis - love your rendering of textures and the lovely effect of the bright bird against a sombre background. It works really well, creating just the right amount of tension in the painting.

We've lost so many small birds and song-birds in my lifetime: but we still have blue tits, great tits, long-tailed tits and others: and this is a lovely portrait of one of the loveliest of them all.
