He is absolutely lovely. So is the painting

stunning watercolour cat Glennis, and brilliant to paint him against that background, so much detail picked out in the cat and with superbly strong colour, amazing to get that strength of colour in this medium!

Great very detailed painting Glennis.

Perfect rendition of a cat who has found the best place in the house to have a doze. Beautifully painted.

What a great composition! It looks as if a lot of love went into this painting, Glennis.

Well done on Patchings; and good luck with this one. Great detail.

This is like two watercolours in one Glennis, a beautiful floral and an excellent cat portrait as well. Good luck in both exhibitions.

Such a familiar cat pose, with everything tucked in! Very attractive and eye-catching.

Great floral background and very comfortable cat! Good luck with your competitions.

Two for the price of one Glennis! Excellent detail in the pussycat and the floral background is gorgeous.

Just love this painting, so contented.

I agree with everyone. Beautiful painting Glennis

Love the floral background Glennis, plus the cat of course!!

Thank you all for your comments., I enjoyed painting this, two of my favourite subjects.

Hi Glennis just seen your lovely comment on my dog pastel 'Leon' the choccy Labrador, thanks so much for commenting, i am really pleased you like him, am delighted with the great response in comments i have had to this pastel drawing, i think everyone can relate to his eyes and get an idea from that drawing how scrumptiously gorgeous the original photo of him is on the paintmyphoto site, one look at that and i was rushing off to get my pastels to start work on him, bye for now xx

Congratulations, first of all; and this is a lovely painting - nothing looks quite so comfortable as a cat can look...

Ros and Robert many thanks for your comments

Glennis - sorry, I had missed this as I haven't visited or posted on POL for a while. Congratulations on having it selected as a painting of the month for June. Just a thought - would you be free to meet for coffee at Nature in Art on Friday? I would love to see their postcard exhibition before it ends on Sunday, and it would be good to meet you.

How about 10.30 am? I'll be in the entrance foyer looking at the books!

congratulations on being picked by the team twice!!!

Jane, thank you I was pleasantly surprised

This is a lovely pece, great background. Makes it really stand out well.

This is such a clever composition.

Victoria and Shirley, many thanks for your comments, the one I did previously did win the Nature in Art Award at the Patchings this month.

Congratulations on your super win at Patchings

Diana, many thanks it was a pleasant surprise to win.

I have painted this cat in a similar pose previously which has been accepted for this year's Patching's competition. This was painted for Cheltenham Open Air Festival which is on at the end of June through to end of July. Saunders Waterford Paper
