some sort of acer I would imagine Glennis. I so admire people who have the patience and observational skills to do lovely botanical drawings, lovely.

Lovely drawing Glennis.I might be wrong but is it a sycamore leaf and seeds?

Lovely Glennis, I agree beautiful colours.

It is really beautiful Glennis :-) I cannot believe this has all been created with just pencils :-p stunning :-)

Very realistic Glennis, love the seed wings. Cleverly composed markings on the leaf. You are lucky, I really admire Janie Pirie's work.

Beautiful and elegant. Sound like a really interesting workshop.

Lovely delicate painting Glennis, beautiul colours. Is it a Sycamore/Maple perhaps?

Super work Glennis.

I like it Glennis, looks like sycamore to me, lovely coloured pencil work

ps. Glennis did you use an embosser to get the veins in the leaf? Yes I agree with above I think it's an acer type leaf.

Fantastic work - I think it looks like a Sycamore - we have many Sycamore seedlings and seeds in our garden, but I can be mistaken. I'm pleased you enjoyed your workshop. It sets a challenge, but as I said before your hibs are stunningly good.

Wonderfully observed and drawn Glennis. You and Carole need to get together and produce a book of botanical illustrations :)

Sycamore or Acer it is then - thank you so much for your comments. Thank you Carole, I have answered your question re the embosser on your 'lily' painting,

Simple, yet it packs a punch. Beautifully done, Glennis!

A day well spent Glennis! Superbly drawn and coloured!!

Result from my day at the workshop yesterday with Janie Pirie. Fabriano hot pressed paper with coloured pencils, Faber Castell and Prismacolor. Found this in the hedgerow, liked the colours in the 'keys', not sure what species it is?
