Beautiful - you have captured a lovely expression. I have just discovered Arches HP paper and think it is marvellous. You can get such detail, yet its good for washes too!

Excellent Glennis......what a beautiful dog.

Great expression on his face!

Love Angel (and what a super name!). You are very good at dogs - this is a great portrait.

Nice expression, eyes are so longing, love the technique you have used on the coat.

Another great doggie portrait Glennis - you have caught her with a lovely expression of anticipation and alertness at the same time. Does she live at the pub or was she with a visitor? Next time you are venturing into the Forest let me know, I will invite you for a cup of coffee!

Thank you all for your very kind comments. Julie we were taking two of our granchildren out for the day, one 15 and the other 8, so big difference in ages to find something to suit. So Littledean Jail was our venue, not sure what I expected, not for the faint hearted and quite raunchy, anyway they were more interested in the pub lunch and to run wild in the forest. The pub was in the centre of the Forest, the Rising Sun I think is the name, there is a lovely pond and the forest surrounds it. The visitors were there with their dog Angel, a lovely dog and we did have a nice lunch. Thank you for the invite for coffee that would be lovely to meet another artist and to put a face to a name.

What a wonderful watercolour painting! The eyes of the dog give a true life, his expression is spot on. I admire the fact that you have work on Hot pressed paper. I just cannot manage it!

Beatrice thank you, hot pressed isn't easy, but practice makes life easier.

and you have captured him really well, lovely watercolours :-)

Lovely portrait Glennis, beautiful eyes

That's a cracker. What a beautiful dog.

Rebecca, Petra and Val, many thanks for your kind comments

Hi Glennis, you were about three miles away from us at the Rising Sun. We are in Lydbrook. As you say, it would be nice to out a face to a name. Do leave me a message on one of my paintings if you are coming to the Forest and we could meet up. They do nice coffee and teas in the conservatory at the Speech House hotel!

A gorgeous piece, Glennis! A lovely dog indeed!

Arches Hot Pressed Paper. This dog called 'Angel' was in a pub garden in the Forest of Dean last week, lovely animal.
