What sad eyes he has. It breaks your heart to hear a story like this but at least he had a nice home and love in his final months. Lovely sensitive portrait and a very kind gesture to do it for your friend.

He has such a lovely face, I'm sure your friend was delighted Glennis.

Sad story and sad eyes but a lovely painting Glennis

Thea, Debs and Michael - many thanks for your comments

It is a sad story but it is a lovely painting Glennis

I agree with all the above comments, Glennis. He looks so sad but your friend has now a beautiful painting to remember him.

Petra, Mia and Kirstie - thank you. Yes my friend is very kind and has a very big heart, devotes her time to helping these beagles.

A sad story indeed, but a very kind thought on your part, Glennis, and a beautiful painting. It's a lovely piece to remember him by.

This beagle belonged to my friend who rescues them. His owner died of cancer 7 months ago and at the age of 14 not likely to be re-homed, so she took him in along with her other 8 rescued beagles. Sadly George died a couple of weeks ago, he had a massive tumour. Although she only had him for 7 months she is devastated, so I painted this for her, hopefully as a good memory of a lovely dog .
