Hi Glennis. With this cold weather outside, it is a pleasure to see a summer landscape. It is very well painted. As a comment, I would say: for a summer tree, I would make the tree in the foreground a bit heavier green compared to the tree in the background. Or the other way around, lighten up the tree in the background. The sunlight on the branches is very good. Also: a little opening in the fence would take the viewer more into the beautiful depth in the painting. :) Mia.

A delightful painting Glennis. As for comments my thoughts are a little different to Mia's but we are all different. I do find my eye switching between the gate and the tree. Although they are connected by the wire fence it is not all that all strong which leaves the two subjects just a little isolated from each other . I would be inclined to link them up a by adding some hedging between them - I think this may help but, as I say it is a lovely painting as it is.

Mia and Michael, many thanks for your constructive comments, as you know I find landscapes difficult so it is nice to have some expert advice.

Love the naif style here, Glennis, and the sunny atmosphere.

This was one of four seasons done at an art school a couple of years ago. The least one I liked as it had a lot of green in it. Thought I would post it for your comments
