He is a puppy, under a year of age. Cross between spaniel and small poodle, not sure of the technical name.

Glenn's this is a lovely picture of a beautiful pup. What medium did you use and how do you make the fur so lifelike?

Thank you all for your comments, much appreciated. Carolyn I used Faber Castell polychromos on Strathmore Bristol Board. Lots of layering. Coloured pencil is not a quick medium.
