very pretty scene lovley painting xx

I think you should do more watercolours Gina. This is very well painted, has a James Fletcher Watson 'feel' to it. I'm the opposite to you, I mostly paint in watercolour, with the occasional oil, which I find difficult (probably because I don't do enough)!

This is marvellous Gina. Good composition and beautiful recession - you have a lovely light touch.

Thankyou everyone for your generous comments-I might try and do more as Stephen suggests.

I tend to switch between oil, watercolour, and acrylic - and not necessarily in that order. It can be such a relief at times - irrespective of the level of difficulty which is supposed to attend each of these (I think it's overstated, certainly in relation to watercolour). Achieving a GOOD painting, whatever the medium, is the problem: and this is exactly how I like my watercolours - restrained, desaturated, a painting you could walk right into.

Hello Gina, I hadn't seen your portfolo before today but I really like your watercolours - paricularly this one with its fresh, bright, transparent colours in the British tradition. Keep 'em coming"! PS What size is it? I want to imagine it on my wall!

Thankyou Terry for your kind comments-it measures 14" x10" with a 3" double mount-I have in fact sold this one.

I mostly paint in oils but every now and again I switch to watercolour-I really like the 'pure' technique.
